November 18, 2013-CHN PPO Achieves URAC Health Network Re-Accreditation
Hamilton, NJ (November 18, 2013) Consumer Health Network Plus, LLC (CHN PPO) announced today that it has been awarded re-accreditation from URAC, a Washington DC-based health care accrediting organization that establishes quality standards for the health care industry.
“We are extremely pleased to receive full Accreditation from URAC,” said Michael A. Morrone, president of CHN PPO. “Our re-accreditation underscores CHN PPO’s steadfast commitment to delivering the highest quality products and services to our customers and providers.”
“We applaud CHN PPO on achieving URAC Health Network Accreditation,” said URAC Chief Operating Officer William Vandervennet. “In today’s health care market, URAC accreditation provides a mark of distinction for organizations to demonstrate their commitment to quality health care.”
CHN PPO, a division of Consolidated Services Group, Inc. (CSG), is a leading preferred provider organization serving the northeastern United States with a premier network of over 140,000 health care providers. For 25 years, CHN has provided PPO networks for insurance carriers, TPAs, joint insurance funds, counties, municipalities and school boards. CHN PPO has maintained URAC accreditation since 1995 when it became the first independent PPO in New Jersey to achieve this distinction.
“CHN PPO takes pride in building positive, long-term relationships with our clients, our providers and our community,” said Cara Ianniello, senior vice president of network operations for CHN PPO. “Maintaining URAC accreditation is an important way to ensure that we not only maintain the highest quality standards, but that we continually enhance and improve our services.”
URAC’s Health Network Accreditation standards include key quality benchmarks for network management, provider credentialing, quality management and improvement, and consumer protection. URAC’s standards require health networks to establish self-monitoring practices, emphasizing quality assurance and improvement.
URAC, an independent, nonprofit organization, is a leader in promoting health care quality through accreditation and certification programs. URAC’s standards keep pace with the rapid changes in the health care system, and provide a mark of distinction for health care organizations to demonstrate their commitment to quality and accountability. Through its broad-based governance structure and an inclusive standards development process, URAC ensures that all stakeholders are represented in setting meaningful standards for the health care industry.
