March 27, 2012Consolidated Services Group EVP Craig Goldsteinto Present at Insurance Council of New Jersey Seminar

Hamilton, NJ (March 27, 2012) Consolidated Services Group, Inc. (CSG), a technology-driven, clinically-based medical claims management provider, today announced that Craig Goldstein, executive vice president and chief operating officer, will present at the Insurance Council of New Jersey Seminar, “PIP Reform 2.0: Where do we go from here and what is around the corner.”

The March 30 seminar will focus on advancing Personal Injury Protection (PIP) regulations proposed to promote consistency and limit excessive claims by requiring medical treatment to comply with clinical guidelines. Recent revisions could reverse some critical gains by widening regulatory loopholes. The seminar will focus on potential impacts as well as strategies for managing untouched cost drivers such as spinal procedures, pharmacy and others.

Goldstein will offer insight to help insurance carriers navigate the revised PIP regulations and project potential financial impacts. His strategic direction stems from extensive experience advising insurance carriers throughout the regionboth in his role at CSG and as a member of the NJ PIP Technical Advisory Committee. Goldstein will introduce third-party studies as well as data collected and analyzed by CSG. He will also offer simulations to forecast how the changes may affect different sections of the fee schedule under the proposed regulations. Each step will be broken down by previous occurrence, changes due to the proposed regulations and potential financial impacts to insurance carriers.

“As we head toward enactment of these significant PIP reforms, insurers should proactively prepare for the amended fee schedules and how they will impact PIP costs and loss ratios,” said, Goldstein. “New Jersey offers strong opportunities for auto insurers who continue to improve medical outcomes and operational efficiency through better planning, processes and technology. Our goal should be to work proficiently within the current legislative environment while advocating for strengthened regulations going forward,” he added.

CSG provides managed care, utilization review and its proprietary CHN PPO network to auto liability insurers, workers’ compensation insurers, third-party administrators and government entities.

The Insurance Council of New Jersey (ICNJ) is a non-profit, insurance research, information and advocacy organization representing 20 New Jersey licensed property/casualty insurance companies.
