June 19, 2012-Consolidated Services Group Hosts Charity Golf Outing
Lansdale, PA (June 19, 2012) On Monday, June 11, 2012, Consolidated Services Group (CSG) hosted its Sixth Annual Charity Golf Outing at Cedarbrook Country Club in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania. The event raised over $30 thousand for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Philadelphia and the Susquehanna Valley and the United Way of Camden County.
CSG sponsors this event as a way to support community programs while showing appreciation to customers and colleagues. Close to 100 golfers representing over 65 companies attended the outing, served as sponsors or donated auction items to support the event. The event began with a shotgun start at noon and featured a silent auction, raffle prizes, a 50/50 and various skill and winning team prizes.
Michael A. Morrone, president and CEO of Consolidated Services Group, said, “I am thankful for the tremendous generosity shown by our customers, business partners and employees, who opened their hearts and wallets to support these two worthy causes. I want to thank everyone involved in making our sixth annual golf outing such a success. Working together, we can make a real difference in our community.”
Since 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation has enriched the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting work. The Foundation’s mission reflects the life-changing impact that a Make-A-Wish experience has on children, families, referral sources, donors, sponsors and entire communities.
“One of the greatest complements a non-profit can receive is when a company conducts a bit of investigative work to see if the charity has a respectable ratio between its mission and programs versus administrative and fundraising costs. Six years ago Consolidated Services Group did just that and liked what they saw. It has been a wonderful relationship ever since. Serving both the Philadelphia and New Jersey chapters, our good friends at CSG have provided critical support for our wish-granting mission. Needless to say, it’s a friendship that we don’t take lightly,” said Dennis Heron, president and CEO of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Philadelphia and the Susquehanna Valley.
The United Way of Camden County (UWCC) advances the common good by mobilizing the caring power of the community. Its work concentrates on helping children achieve their goals through education; helping families become financially stable; and improving people’s health.
“Partnership and collaboration are the keys to our success in creating real, lasting change in our community and creating opportunities for a better life for all. Through the generosity and kindness of CSG and their corporate partners, we will have a direct impact on the education, income and health of an entire generation and the transformation of a community,” said Michael E. Moynihan, President, United Way of Camden County.
The golf outing has generated over $140 thousand for charitable causes since it began in 2007.
