Meet MEG: a valued division of Medlogix
The founders of Michigan Evaluation Group (M.E.G.), John Welsh and Phillip Lewis, (both now retired) brought 30+ years of combined claims management industry experience to the table when they launched MEG in 1999. As a provider of direct nationwide access to accredited and board-certified physicians, MEG has served the insurance, legal, and business industries with quality independent medical examinations for over twenty years.
Medlogix acquired MEG in 2018 and has spent the past three years as an important division of the rapidly growing claims management company – a match that brought MEG founders back to their roots in an exciting way.
“The partnership with Medlogix represents an opportunity for us to leverage a more comprehensive and broader-reaching suite of solutions for our existing and future valued client relationships,” said John Welsh, President of MEG in 2018. “Their experience with larger and middle market clients, coupled with an intuitive, user-friendly technology platform, creates value for our current clients and target markets.”
Expanding Medlogix expertise
MEG specializes in worker’s compensation, auto no-fault, general disability, and liability claims. Their experienced professional staff provide the independent experts with support and services to render an unbiased second medical opinion based on the merits of each case.
The robust physician network spans a wide variety of specialties, from surgical and rehabilitation, to specialized clinical testing and psychological services. The medical professionals who review each case provide a detailed picture of an individual’s medical status upon evaluation.
“We see ourselves as a resource to our clients as well as the injured party.” said Marla Wiederhold, Operations Manager for Michigan Evaluation Group. “We work with the independent physicians to ensure that the injured person is treated respectfully through the examination process and that the physician provides a thorough, unbiased medical opinion that will enable the client to make appropriate medical determinations on their claim files.”
High standard for quality
The final report is delivered to MEG clients but before it is sent, the Quality Assurance department reviews all information to ensure that the client’s specific questions have been addressed. Beyond delivery of the report, meticulous record-keeping prepares experts for litigation, depositions, or appeals when they arise.
Together with other acquisitions and partners, Medlogix is prepared to continue the upward trajectory in client medical claims management by maintaining exceptional standards with every step.
